Prosopagnosia

This is a neurological condition also known as face-blindness that causes a person to be unable to recognize faces. Unrelated to the person’s ability to actually see faces, it can even affect someone with perfect vision. In the normal brain there is a center that is dedicated to face recognition. Prosopagnosia arises when that special center in the brain becomes damaged or is otherwise unable to perform its function.
